Alvin and the Chipmunks The Squeakquel (2009) R5 MKV 290 MB

During the Chipmunks' benefit concert, David Seville (Jason Lee) is badly injured after Alvin jumps onto a scaffolding, and a falling billboard sends him flying across the stage into electric devices. After the accident, he is rushed to the hospital. Although he survives, he must stay to recuperate. He tells Alvin (voiced by Justin Long), Simon (voiced by Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (voiced by Jesse McCartney) that while he is away, he has asked his Aunt Jackie to look after the Chipmunks, and that he has also made arrangements for them to go to school. They head to the airport, where the Chipmunks meet up with Jackie, who introduces her grandson Toby (Zachary Levi) After Aunt Jackie falls down a staircase and a luggage trolley crashes into her, she too is sent to the hospital, leaving Toby in charge.
Meanwhile, Ian Hawke (David Cross), former manager, now lives in the basement of Jett Records. Three singing female chipmunks, Brittany (voiced by Christina Applegate), Jeanette (voiced by Anna Faris), and Eleanor (voiced by Amy Poehler),who call themselves the Chipettes, emerge from a package and introduce themselves to Ian. Brittany says that since Ian made the Chipmunks stars, they want to be stars too. To prove their talent, they sing "Put Your Records On" and Ian hires them.
The tension between Alvin and Simon builds as Alvin hangs out with the jocks of the school, but the one who is most affected is Theodore who believes he is losing his brothers because they are fighting all the time.
The Chipmunks meet the Chipettes and gains crushes for their counterparts, but are soon forced to have a rivalry after discovering that they are with Ian. The Chipmunks and the Chipettes compete against each other in a Battle of the Bands. During lunchtime, Alvin meets up with Brittany, sharing a slightly romantic moment with her until he warns her about what Ian did to him and his brothers, but Brittany does not believe him. At the concert, the Chipettes sing "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)". Ian videotapes the Chipettes performance and posts it on YouTube, along with his phone number. The Chipettes win the competition and Ian became rich and famous again after Simon and Theodore forfeit the competition because Alvin failed to show up. Alvin later shows up only to see that everyone's gone. When Alvin returns home, Simon and Theodore pretend they're sleeping and ignore him. The embarrassment is too much for Theodore to take so he runs away to the zoo. When Toby and the boys find him and save him from an eagle, it brings out the best in all four of them and the Chipmunks all forgive each other and go back to "One for all, and three for one," as Theodore had said.
Soon, the Chipettes are hired as the opening act at a Britney Spears concert at the Staples Center. Unfortunately, the concert is on the same night as the school concert, so Ian decides to blow off the battle and make the Chipettes perform at the concert. However, since he focuses on Brittany the most, he wants her to perform onstage alone while Jeanette and Eleanor sing backup. Brittany refuses to sing without her sisters, so Ian threatens to send them to a barbecue restaurant if they refuse and was kidnapped by Ian after they realized that Ian just use them to become rich.
At the school, Toby gets a phone call from Ian, and Alvin answers it, but he learns that it's from Brittany, saying that she and her sisters have been locked in a cage. Alvin is able to free the girls from Ian and are able to get away and head back top the school. Simon and Theodore are about to forfeit the concert again, but Toby tries to stall the crowd. Alvin and the Chipettes fly into the hall on the helicopter and they all sing "We Are Family". Dave then arrives and watches them perform.
The Chipettes are adopted at the boys' request and sleep at the Chipmunks' house where Dave wishes them good night, but Alvin refuses to go to sleep. So, while Dave turns off the lights, Alvin turns them back on. Dave eventually gets irritated, and goes over to Alvin, who turns off the lights, causing Dave to trip over a skateboard. "Exhausted," Alvin turns on the lights, and wishes Dave good-night, turns off the lights, and the movie ends with Dave yelling "ALVIN!"
In an epilogue, the jocks are shown cleaning gun off the bleachers while Dr. Rubun watches over them.
In the post-credits, Ian is shown being thrown into a dumpster backstage by the guards. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvin_and_the_Chipmunks:_The_Squeakquel)

Dragon Throne: Battle Of Red Cliffs

A outstanding and the game is cool, the story is around one of the most important age in China, the game interface is very easy to understand, and it shared a lot experience with Age Of Empire two, but in this game the graphic are better than any other 2D real strategy game, also it doesn't have a lot bugs...a lot of thing can be done by auto! Enjoy! By Erfang (Whitstone, NY United States).

Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2009)

Universal Soldier: Regeneration is a rare sequel that far outstrips the original. A small terrorist group seizes the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, threatening to release a toxic cloud. A military squad is sent in--and decimated by a new and more lethal "UniSol" (played by former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei "The Pit Bull" Arlovski). Desperate, the American military forces the decommissioned UniSol Luc Devereaux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) to revert back to a killing machine--even though the consequences to his damaged psyche could be severe… and dangerous. But the standard plot isn't what makes Universal Soldier: Regeneration so much better than its predecessors (incidentally, you don't need to see the earlier films to enjoy this one). The movie looks better (thanks in large part to superb cinematography by Peter Hyams, who directed Van Damme in Timecop); the script is skillfully written, with well-drawn characters and dialogue that actually sounds like human beings speaking; and the fighting, rather than being absurdly spectacular, is gritty and brutal--director John Hyams (Peter's son) has made documentaries about mixed martial arts fighters and clearly understands that real combat isn't about backflips and whirling kicks but vicious hitting. Van Damme has always had an odd vulnerability; he's a soulful action hero, and this sense of inner sadness lends a strange gravity to the stakes. Dolph Lundgren, who also repeats his previous role as a malevolent UniSol, gives a brief but unnerving performance. Universal Soldier: Regeneration is a gripping action thriller that sneaks in moral ambiguity and stealthy questions about free will--all in all, an unexpected and welcome pleasure. --Bret Fetzer

Smokin' Aces 2 : Assassins' Ball (2010)

Lots of questions out there about the whole prequel/sequel argument and the inevitable comparisons between the two films, but in the end this is really about Carnahan having a fun time indulging the premise of his success by making another film (have to watch the supplements).

The story contains two characters from the first film, but there is no other other connection and each of them only have bit parts that provide a few laughs so watching the first film is not mandatory to get anything happening here. The FBI protects one of their own from a conglomerate of assassins, all of whom get their chance to display their special skills. Tom Berenger plays the FBI target, and he does play his age but I really only liked his last scene. Vinnie Jones gets some corny screen time, the Tremors are way over the top and the majority of their scenes were filmed like Natural Born Killers (fake backgrounds while driving). The film does get some stand-alone uniqueness with exploding clowns and a 50s retro FBI fashion look, but the cheese gets pretty heavy.

The BD clarity is excellent, so much so that when they tried any special effects they looked horrible, but both the interior and exterior shots without effects were pristine. The 5.1 DTS gets used extensively, reference the exploding clowns through the walls sequence. The makeup looked so thick on Berenger that you sometimes wished the BD wasn't so clear. The supplements are thorough and include (some are hidef and some are not):

* Deleted scenes, 10:01 minutes. Glad most of them were deleted, this also includes the alternate ending - but I think most people will agree the ending included is much better (a revenge thing for how this whole movie was written).
* Gag reel, 6:32 minutes. Had a couple of funny moments, but they were mostly tedious (watching the FBI gal repeatedly cuss like a sailor was funny though).
* Behind Carnahan, 6:30 minutes. Covers everything about Smokin Aces I, and a little about why this came to be.
* Confessions of an Assassin, 25:59 minutes. The behind the scenes as told through the month of filming (in a day by day format). The two things I liked about this the most were the old guy Michael Parks who plays one of the Tremors and the foul mouthed producer Elliot. Both of those guys are hilarious, hard to tell with Parks but I think he was genuinely pissed off anytime a camera was rolling. Elliot slammed everything I hate about these kinds of documentaries so the self-loathing thing worked well.
* Weapons of SA II, 4:17 minutes. The main weapons guy reviews the variety of armaments in the film.
* Cue Clown, 2:57 minutes. Reviews how you make an exploding clown scene, gross.
* Bunker Mentality, 3:35 minutes. Reviews production design and construction for the best set in the film - nice room.
* pocketBlu. More iPhone/iPod stuff for portable fans.
* BD Live, nothing relative or new to this film online.
* Unrated version, 2 minutes longer. The majority of the added footage is in the beginning as they removed the sex scene from the rated cut - you get to see AK-47 Tremor do her very wild thing sans clothing, worth the watch.

Once you watch the supplements one should understand this was about having fun and putting some cheese on film. The critics who slam this film are all correct, but having no expectations helps. 2 for the film, 2 for the BD clarity and supplements. Enjoy. -By Steve Kuehl "SLV Video" (Ben Lomond,CA)
